Motivational Monday

It can prove difficult to concentrate and stay on task in the middle of summer while your friends inundate your social media feeds with their exotic travels. Snap out of #FOMO (fear of missing out) mode and practice some gratitude in your daily life. It has been said that the key to success and happiness is getting up early to launch your day without distractions, meditating to combat stress, eating clean to nourish your body, reading to open your mind and practicing daily gratitude. Incorporating one or more of these into your daily routine could help to lift your spirits, increase happiness and assist you in feeling better as a whole. So, put down your cell phones, get up from your desks and start your day in a positive way! Happy Monday to you all!

President’s Day

Today we celebrate our patriotic past by honoring our leaders. Originally established in 1885 to celebrate our first president, George Washington, it is still known as “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government. In honor of this holiday, below are a few of our favorite presidential quotes:

“Liberty, when it begins to take root, is a plant of rapid growth.” – George Washington

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” – Theodore Roosevelt

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” – John F. Kennedy

“The American Dream means giving it your all, trying your hardest, accomplishing something. And then I’d add to that, giving something back. No definition of a successful life can do anything but include serving others.” – George H. W. Bush

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” – Barack Obama

MLK Dream

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. – an activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader of the civil rights movement – today we take a look back at some of his inspirational quotes:

“I have a dream…”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

I have decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
