Opening a Claim Help Guide

As a preferred insurance company, we understand that filing a claim is not only stressful but can seem difficult to do. These unforeseen events cause more than just damage but also leave you feeling hopeless. We want to let you know that help is available.

When discovering a potential claim at your home, we would like to remind you of some tips that’ll make the process easier:

  1. Call your insurance company right away, do not wait for the risk or damage to become bigger
  2. If you find water has started to cause damage or has flooded any space in your house, shut the water off immediately
  3. If you don’t remember your policy number, it’s okay! We have other methods of finding your policy with us
  4. Do not call a third party to clean-up, patch or inspect conditions without contacting your insurance first
  5. Keep records such as receipts, photos and videos of your items within your home
  6. Always hire licensed contractors to perform work on your home, this is for your protection

Energy Saving Tips

WM_Energy-Saving_10.19

Knowing how to save energy doesn’t just mean turning off all the lights and having the thermostat set to an ideal temperature; but learning how some small changes could also save you big money this winter season.

Here are some helpful tips on staying warm without burning a hole in your pocket:

  1. Use weather stripping, quilted curtains and draft stoppers on your doors to insulate your home to help keep the heat in.
  2. Set thermostat as low as comfortably possible, try using layered clothes and blankets as oppose to raising the thermostat temperature
  3. Unplug all appliances and electronics that are easy to plug in and use when needed such as phone chargers, coffee makers, hair tools and gaming systems.
  4. Replace the heater’s filter as often as recommended by the manufacturer
  5. Have air vents professionally cleaned to ensure that the maximum air flow is entering the home
