Memorial Day

Observed the last Monday in May, Memorial Day serves as a time to reflect on the brave WM-Memorial-Day_5.24.19men, women and service animals who have fought and passed while defending our country’s core values. Fighting to protect our citizen’s rights to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and freedom of speech, these heroic individuals made the ultimate sacrifice. While as of late Americans have celebrated this day by throwing barbeques, shopping closeout sales and traveling over long weekends, Memorial Day is meant as a time to reflect and honor members of the military who have passed while protecting us.

In honor of the fallen who have served our country!

St. Patrick’s Day

Later this week, many people will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Do you know why people wear green on this Irish holiday? Legend has it that if you’re wearing the color green, leprechauns won’t be able to see you. If they can’t see you, they can’t pinch you. So, the question remains…will you wear green on Sunday and avoid a pinch?

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day?  Many choose to celebrate this popularly coined “Hallmark Holiday” by getting together with a spouse or significant other and enjoying a romantic meal paired with some bubbly. Not currently paired up?  No problem!  Valentine’s Day or “Galentine’s Day” can be a great excuse to gather up your gal or guy friends (perhaps both) and have a fun dinner party, night of pampering or casual movie night.  However you chose to celebrate, we wish you a very happy “hearts day” to you and yours!

Thanksgiving Day Fire Safety

Did you know that the greatest number of home cooking fires occur on Thanksgiving Day? According to the National Fire Protection Association, the top causes range from leaving equipment unattended and having a heat source too close to flammable materials to misuse of products and accidentally leaving cooking equipment on. This week, please be mindful of this information and remain aware of what can happen if appliances turned on and left unattended.
